Preparation: Tile borders must be applied to a clean, dry surface. Vinyl, acrylic, fiberglass and stainless steel are the only pool surfaces that carry the 3-year warranty. Borderlines™ are NOT warranted for use on gunite and other plaster pool surfaces. Surface temperature should be at least 60° F and no more than 100° F during application. Begin by lowering water level 9” to 12” (Your borders will measure 6” or 9” with an additional 3”- 6” of dry surface area for ease of installation). Surface must be clean and free of any algae, dirt or oils. Purchace our BorderLines Surface Cleaner. Once the surface is clean you should wipe the entire perimeter area the border will be applied to using a clean cloth and our BorderLines Surface Prep. Borderlines™ will adhere to your surface under water once applied and cured but it is very important for both the surface and the border itself to be completely dry during installation.
Application:
Your Borderlines™ tile border will follow the top edge of your pool as a guide for placement. We recommend using the wall skimmer as a starting point. Begin by gently peeling off several inches of the backing material and securing the exposed border to the surface. Adhere the border using a BORDERLINES our plastic squeegee or a soft dry cloth to apply pressure working outward toward the edge. Continue to peel material and apply exposed border using firm pressure and overlapping strokes to ensure a good bond. Once a full section of border is applied pay particular attention to the edges, reapplying pressure if necessary to ensure proper adhesion. Apply additional border sections side by side in a continuous pattern around the perimeter of pool. A very slight overlap from section to section is recommended. If you come to a wall mounted obstruction, such as a return inlet or skimmer, the border can be carefully cut using scissors to go around the fitting. Once you have completed the application and return to the original skimmer starting point you can cut the border and tuck behind the skimmer face plate to end.
IMPORTANT!
Take one more opportunity to go over the edges of the border applying circular pressure, particularly where it will be submerged in water. ALLOW 24 HOURS FOR ADHESIVES TO FULLY CURE BEFORE REFILLING YOUR POOL to its normal operational level. PREPARATION AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED IN ORDER FOR BORDERLINES™ TO ADHERE PROPERLY TO POOL SURFACE.
Custom Pools:
If applying to a custom shape with radius corners you will want to tape the border up with masking tape prior to removing the backing sheet. This will allow you to determine how the border will look in and around curves and if you will need to cut and splice the border to make such bends. NOTE: Please read carefully and follow the general use guidelines below and as outlined in the Borderlines warranty registration at www.poolborders.com. The water chemistry of your pool must be maintained and balanced so as not to affect the warranty performance of Borderlines™.

GENERAL USE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Chemicals: Be certain to maintain your pool’s chemistry level at all times. Extended periods of high chlorine levels, acidic or alkaline water can reduce the life of the border and may limit or exclude warranty replacement.
2. Cleaning: Be sure to clean your border with a soft clean sponge or cloth using our BorderLines Surface Cleaner.
3. High temperatures: Water temperatures above 90°F. may shorten the life of your border and limit the warranty replacement. BORDERLINES™ IS NOT warranted for use in spa’s in which temperatures exceed 90°F. BORDERLINES™ WARRANTY INSTRUCTIONS
BORDERLINES™ are guaranteed by manufacturer to be free from defects in material under normal use in accordance with the Manufacturer’s Application Instructions and General Use Instructions. If you believe BORDERLINES™ to be defective at any time during the first 3 seasons of use you may write or call Pool Borders, Inc. at the address and number listed below or go online to www.poolborders.com. After placing initial claim a return form will be sent to you. Consumer is responsible for any handling and shipping fees. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from improper installation, misuse or abuse of the product, or alteration or modification of the product after your purchase.
THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES, REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT BE LIABLE IN CONTRACT OR TORT FOR ANY DIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL OR INCIDENTAL LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
TERMS OF PRO-RATED WARRANTY
Our Pro-rated warranty is a partial warranty that is used for non-repairable products like tires or batteries or in this case Pool Borders. Under Pro-rated warranty, if a Pool Border fails before the end of the warranty cycle, we replace it at a cost that depends on the age of the item at the time of complaint. In this type of warranty only a part of the initial cost is covered. However, the replaced product is then covered by an equal new warranty. If your Pool Border fails in the pro-rated warranty cycle then depending on the value of the Pool Borders, you will get a discount on the current price of the newly replaced Pool Borders. The pro-rated warranty is counted from the date of purchase to the date of filing a claim.
BORDERLINES™ carry a 3 season limited warranty, 1 season full, 2 seasons prorated, from date of purchase. Should your border exhibit defects per the above limitations, the original purchaser shall pay only the following percent of the manufacturers suggested list price at the time of replacement.
